vellaipoondu thovaiyal

Today I'm writing this post as a dedication to my grandma who laid the foundation for my cooking. This afternoon, I spoke to my grandma, that made me nostalgic. when i was a little kid , I used to go to her house for all my summer vacations till 9th, she used to entertain me the whole day and in just 5 to 10 minutes she fixed our dinner. She used to make the best wheat dosa with this side dish. Her's was the best I would say even now.
She used to pour extremely thin wheat dosas , that it comes out soooo crispy and this combination is really AMAZING.. its a very simple recipe, but in the right proportion it not only tastes yummy but very healthy.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Serves - 4

Ingredients
Pearl onion - 10 nos.
Garlic- 5 to 6 pods
Green chili -2 nos. medium
Coconut - 1/2 scraped
Tamarind - 1 inch piece

Preparation:
Add all the ingredients to the mixie jar and add salt to taste.

Add little water as required to adjust the consistency.
And blend into a smooth paste.

Did you know:

Weekly once you take this as side dish at night for your dinner it surely will put your health back on track. Not only that the raw garlic  taken at night reduces the fat stored around your waist.

I was told this thovaiyal  relieves from all the pain too. My mom used to say she makes this when she feels very exhausted and next day morning she feels so light & fresh.

In our family we make this only with wheat dosa , but you can try with any other tiffen items too

So don't hesitate to try it and post your feedback in my comments section.
