apple pomo shake

My friends were asking me to post some snack box recipes, since its lock down.. I prefer giving liquid snacks than solids .. so I'm writing this post.. will definitely post some munchable snacks soon..

Liquids are definitely a better option for snacks because you can include fruits and veges than stock up on oil or fats. But make sure you keep the sugar to minimum as much as possible.
I don't add any extra sugar or honey if the fruit is sweet like .. for mangoes, apple or with bananas..

Here is the recipe:

Preparation time:
10 minutes
Serves 4

Ingredients:
Apple -2 nos.
Pomegranate - 1 no.
Vanilla ice cream - 2 scoops
Milk - 2 cups

Preparation:
Remove the arils from the pomegranate.
Add it to the mixie jar and blend it.
Strain the liquid and add it back to the jar.
Peal and rough chop the apples and add it to the mixie jar and puree it smoothly.
Now add ice cream & milk and run it once to make it a homogeneous shake.

Garnish with few arils of pomogranate and serve chilled

Note:

This smoothie can be enjoyed through out the year as both apple and pomegranate are available year round.

Pomegranate will  have a little bitterness but apples sweetness will compliment, so you kids won't know it has pomegranate, if you don't tell them.

Tips:
Wash the glass you will be using to serve then take sugar or powdered sugar in a plate and dip the brim of the glass in the plate such that the top is fully coated. Then keep the glass in the fridge for 5 to 10 minutes then pour the shake and serve for a restaurant style presentation. you can also add a fresh sprig of mint if you have to add the visual appeal.
